Westfield Manor is partners with Care Home Design to support us to create an environment that has a positive effect on our residents’ wellbeing; from dementia friendly signage and orientation to optimising lighting to improve engagement and reduce falls. We have created some bespoke furniture for residents to interact with to encourage them to be active and stimulated creating better outcomes.

Activities

We have our own rabbits and residents are encouraged to pet them. We have a garden area where residents plant their own vegetables. Residents can enjoy meals in the dining room, lounge or in their bedroom. Snacks and drinks are available all day and we have a four-week rolling seasonal menu. We are also happy to make our residents anything not on our menu should they request it. Residents’ views are asked for menu planning and many of our dishes are chosen by them.

Independence

We offer a weekly shopping service whereby any resident who would like items brought in can have it purchased for them by the staff. We also support some residents to go shopping themselves to help maintain as much independence as possible.

We offer patients...

Close links with visiting professionals such as the Tissue Viability Team, Dietician, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, and local GP surgery including weekly Doctors rounds. We also work closely with Bradford Mental Health Team. We have Covid-19 secure visiting as well as monthly Covid-19 testing for all residents and three times weekly Covid-19 testing for staff. We use an electronic care planning system to keep accurate records and free staff up to spend time caring for residents.
